The Southern Vermont Green Mountains offers no shortage of year
round outdoor activities. The Berkeley Lodge is nestled in the Middle of the Green Mountain National Forest with views of
Southern Vermont's largest peak, 3,900 ft. Stratton Mountain.
The Stratton Recreation Center is located just 5 minutes
from the Lodge. Here you will find an expansive playground for small children. There is also a vast open field and baseball
diamond, full court basketball, vollyball, picknick area, and great mountain bike trails. In the winter this area has a sleigh
ride hill and an extensive network of groomed cross county skiing trails.
2 miles from the lodge is the entrance to
the National Forest. Here you will find Grout Pond. A great place to Canoe, swim, fish, picknick,or hike. Also here you can
have access to the Appalacian Trail which can bring you to the summit of Stratton Mountain. In winter, this area is home to
one of the finest access point to the V.A.S.T network of snowmobile trails.
There are more than 5 major Ski resorts
all within a 1/2 hour's drive of The Lodge. Stratton Mountain Ski resort has a European inspired Villiage where fine shops
and restaurants are located. The Town of West Dover is home to Mount Snow, a 15 minute drive from the Lodge. Here you will
also find a plethora of dining options and evening activities.
If you enjoy Golf, there are numerous options available
to you. Stratton Mountain has a Championship 27 hole course. Mount Snow and nearby Haystack Mountain also have fine 18 Hole
courses.
For those of you who enjoy shopping, you just cant beat the deals available at the Manchester Outlet Center
located a 1/2 hour from the Lodge.
