Welcome to The Berkeley Lodge

The Berkeley Lodge offers a spacious and tranquil environment to relax and take in the mountain air. Surrounded by the Green Mt National Forest, the lodge is a special place with striking scenery, lush conifer forest and beautiful cold running Ball Mountain Brook within its boundaries. Located between the two major ski resorts of Mount Snow and Stratton Mountain in the Historic town of Stratton and situated on 37 private acres, there is no shortage of outdoor activities for families of all ages year round.

There is a good chance you may stumble across a moose while on your way to the Appalachian Trail that is only three miles from the lodge.  If you are an alpine skier or enjoy the more traditional cross country skiing, opportunities are literally right out side our door steps. Snowmobiling, horses back riding, bicycling and canoeing are some of the activities you can enjoy during your stay.  With a variety of species of plants and animals, hiking and backpacking are the best ways to discover all the rare and unique plants, trees, birds and numerous animals of all sizes that make the forest feel enchanted.

At 2,200 feet high and great views of Stratton Mountain South side the lodge is a great place year round. From the amazing foliage in the fall and over 100 inches of snow a year, the lodge is your back country retreat.  With cool summers for swimming, fishing, water sports and golf, the only question is what to do next.  Maybe just sitting on our deck or next to the camp fire suites you fine, and then enjoy the accommodations of this quite corner in the Appalachians.

Come to the woods, for here is rest. There is no repose like that of the green deep woods. Here grow the wallflower and the violet. The squirrel will come and sit upon your knee, the logcock will wake you in the morning. Sleep in forgetfulness of all ill. Of all the upness accessible to mortals, there is no upness comparable to the mountains.

John Muir, Atlantic Monthly, January 1869
